Subject: priceless Akron footage...
I read about the Akron on National Geographic. Its dimensions were incomprehensible even with NG's fabulous illustrations.

The scene at the end of this reel is wonderful, showing man's testing limits of hugeness. The airship was an AIRCRAFT CARRIER (of biplanes)!

Alas, only through experimentation do we sometimes learn what can and cannot be.

“Never regret thy fall,
O Icarus of the fearless flight
For the greatest tragedy of them all
Is never to feel the burning light.

― Oscar Wilde
